Millions of people come home from work or school every day and unwind by putting on their favorite TV show. But what do they watch?
Right now, Netflix’s No. 1 show in the world is “Emily in Paris,” which has reached the top of the charts in more than 90 countries. The show follows Emily, a 20-something American girl who moves from the U.S. to Paris for a job opportunity.
Another popular and long-running option is “Grey’s Anatomy,” which has more than 20 seasons. As of 2022, it was one of Netflix’s most-watched shows, with 420 episodes and over 350 million views. The series stars Meredith Grey, who starts as a surgical intern and becomes an award-winning surgeon over her 20-year career. If you’ve finished “Grey’s Anatomy” and want more medical drama, shows like “The Good Doctor,” “The Resident,” “Chicago Med,” and “9-1-1” are great alternatives. They may not have as many seasons, but if you enjoy the medical aspects of “Grey’s Anatomy,” you’re sure to like at least one of these options.

“Stranger Things” has also been a fan favorite for a while, with Season 4 alone gaining more than 140 million views. This sci-fi drama series is set in a small town where mysterious disappearances and strange occurrences start to happen. A group of kids sets out to uncover the truth behind these events.
If you’ve already seen “Stranger Things,” you might enjoy shows like “Locke & Key,” “Castle Rock,” or even the documentary “Beyond Stranger Things,” which explores the inspirations behind the series.
Looking for something with less sci-fi? That’s okay, too! “Young Sheldon,” based off of “The Big Bang Theory,” is one of the most successful spinoffs ever. It has seven seasons and features a young Sheldon Cooper, who is seriously gifted. The show follows him and his family through many hardships and life experiences. With a new show featuring Sheldon’s brother on the way, there’s plenty more to enjoy.
No matter what you choose to watch, your new favorite show could be right around the corner. So dive into something new—you never know which series will catch your attention.
